Located between the village of Bombe and the towering Bombe mountain, Shantawene is home to smallholder farmers who cultivate coffee in the lush garden plots surrounding their homes. This lot, grown at approximately2,226 metres in the Bensa district, benefits from Sidama’s two distinct rainy seasons, which shape its remarkable flavour profile. Ethiopia’s coffee heritage thrives in this region where coffee trees have grown naturally for centuries.
